Ever wonder how they judge Yo-Yo contests? This clicker is key

Every once in a while, you might hear about the world Yo-Yo contest on the news. But you never hear how they judge them. A unique clicker is key.

As the official rules state, judges hold a clicker in each hand, clicking one for positive points and another for negative points. At the end of a performance, judges add the totals for a contestant’s final score. The clicker numbers count for 60% of a contestant’s final score, because they’re used to measure purely technical elements in a routine instead of moreĀ artistic yo-yo feats.

If you want to play yo-yo judge at home, you can: clickers are available for individual sale.
