This is what happens when a violin breeds with a trumpet

Yes, this is the Viotrumpet.

Technically, it’s just a violin with its guts swapped out for a horn. When John Kalaf Jr. invented it in 1924, he envisioned a way to replace the expensive and intricate body of a violin with an attached horn. The horn amplified the sound and, as a result, the violin could be made without the expense and hassle of Stradivarious-style construction.
