Watch a short video about the FBI’s Art Crime Team

Established in 2004, the FBI’s Art Crime Team has 14 agents who investigate art and cultural crime. This short video, made by the FBI, shows a bit about the group. The most disappointing revelation? Art thieves aren’t suave Cary Grant types—they’re just criminals who want to make a buck.

The team’s successes include the recovery of looted pre-Colombian artifacts, the recapture of a Rembrandt in Copenhagen, and the recovery of a Goya from the thieves who stole it in, of all places, Toledo, Ohio.
