You’d never shelve this bling-covered book

Normally, you’d want to impress people with what’s inside your books. But this 13th century style book makes you never want to crack the cover.

Though made in the 19th century, it replicates the German books of the 13th century. Books then were rare and incredibly valuable, so it makes sense that they’d add some jewelry to the cover to play up the book’s value.

Though this book has a later provenance than the 13th century books that inspired it, it still has a pretty lush history—it came from the collection of J.P. Morgan.
